Anatomy
Anatomy can be incredibly frustrating for 3D artists, but it doesn't have to be. I’m breaking down complex anatomy into simple, easy-to-understand concepts. Together, we’ll better understand proportions and how to break it, nail the perfect silhouette, map out the planes of the face, and unlock the secrets to making your characters look stunning and full of appeal!
Clothing and Accessories
We will bridge the gap between hard-surface modeling, organic forms, and artistic stylization, equipping you with a versatile skill set highly requested in the entertainment industry.
First, you will dive into hard-surface modeling, learning the techniques required to build clean, complex, and crisp hard-edged models. Next, you will transition into organic workflows, exploring cloth sculpting to manually craft natural folds and wrinkles.
To elevate your clothing creation to a professional standard, you will learn how to proper use Marvelous Designer garments and learn exactly how to optimize your clothing and models for a production pipeline, ensuring your work is perfectly prepared for texturing, rigging, and rendering.
Retopology and Uv Mapping
We will look into creating production-ready UVs and clean topology from scratch. You will learn the best practice for edge flow, professional retopology techniques, and highly optimized UV layouts, giving you the technical confidence needed to prep any model for a studio environment.
Crucially, you will learn the vital importance of edge flow for complex facial expressions, ensuring your characters can blink, smile, and speak without ugly mesh stretching. We will also cover topology best practices for rigging.
Grooming
Because hair is vital to creating an appealing character, this mentorship heavily emphasizes its foundational shapes. You will learn how to block out primary volumes to establish clear flow and a strong silhouette and how to use it as a universal guide for any pipeline, whether you are building low-poly mesh hair, XGen grooms in Maya, or Blender Geometry Nodes hair systems.
Look Dev
We will closely look into non-destructive layer stacks and anchor points inside Substance Painter to build highly detailed clothing textures and realistic skin shaders. You will understand how to create believable details such as fabric clothing, skin textures, or prop textures. This mentorship moves you past generic, flat materials, equipping you with the advanced production workflows needed to deliver tactile, responsive, and completely alive characters.
Presentation
In this final phase of the mentorship, you will understand simple yet highly efficient rendering techniques designed to showcase your hard work. You will learn how to set up lighting and camera that perfectly accentuate your character’s anatomy, silhouette, and material textures, ensuring your final portfolio pieces look complete. I will also guide you through an accessible approach to character rigging, giving you the power to pose your model effortlessly for its final showcase.

How do we choose our weekly session time?
Our 90-minute live sessions are completely custom-scheduled for a specific time slot that accommodates both of our calendars as smoothly as possible. Before the mentorship begins, we will look at our respective schedules, account for any time zone differences, and lock in a dedicated weekly slot that works perfectly for both of us.
What softwares do I need?
Feel free to use whatever software you’re most comfortable with.
This mentorship accommodates multiple pipelines: you can use ZBrush or Blender for sculpting, and Maya or Blender for modeling and rendering. However, to get the most out of the course, Substance Painter for texturing and Marvelous Designer for advanced clothing creation are highly recommended.
Do I need to be an expert in these programs before joining?
Not an expert, but you should have a basic working knowledge of your chosen modeling and sculpting software. Anyone can learn a piece of software; this mentorship focuses on building your professional mindset, systematic workflows, and the technical problem-solving skills needed to conquer complex artistic obstacles.
How much access will I get to you during the mentorship?
Expect a highly supportive and flexible learning environment. While our live session time is built for high-intensity focus to cover maximum ground together, your mentorship continues throughout the week. I always do my best to stay available for extra guidance in our private Discord channel. Please keep in mind that I am not online 24/7 and we might be in different time zones, but I will check in consistently to ensure you never stay stuck on an artistic or technical roadblock.

Yes! If you aren't ready for a full 08-week program, I offer an intensive 2-week mini-mentorship. This format is hyper-focused on a single, specific area of your choice, such as mastering stylized anatomy, refining hair workflows, or polishing your texturing in Substance Painter.
